The XMC, founded 1996 in Zurich, is focused on the following key aspects:
- Management consulting with an emphasis on logistics
- Strategy consulting with a main focus on execution of feasibility studies and the development of business plans
- Process analysis and supply chain management for customers all over the world
Initially after the foundation of the company most projects were realized with national customers. The increasing need of qualified logistics planners in Germany lead to the decision to move to North Rhine-Westphalia in 2002. In addition the service portfolio of XMC was expanded by the following key aspects:
- Process optimization and material flow planning
- Technical and organizational planning plus simulation of logistical systems
In the further development additional key aspects have joined.
XMC is strongly interested in active knowledge management and therefore works in close partnership with academic institutes and even founded an institute for post-fossil logistics in year 2012 in order to work on own research projects.
Both shareholders, Prof. Dr. Günter Truszkiewitz and Dipl.-Ing. Alexander Zarle, teach at the SRH Hochschule für Logistik und Wirtschaft in Hamm, Germany which is a specialized university concentrating on logistics and management.
Prof. Dr. Karl-Georg Steffens is the head of the research department and teacher at the University of Neuss, Germany.
Also in future it will be essential for XMC to focus on growth and broaden with further professionals in additional special fields.
